use pippa porley - if you google her it will come up with her address and phone number or pm me and Ill give it to you - hers are ntastic and cheap horse forelocks,Can anybody point me in the right direction to obtain/purchase some extra hair for a very thin forelock, which does not seem to grow?
Ideally I would like something that can be detached whilst not in the ring.
Thanks in advance.
when our pony had her mane pulled last time we gathered the hair and are hoping to make a forelock which attaches to the bridle.
Fylde saddlry do lse forelocks they are 30.00. They only come in black and you can pull them if you want plait. Look good on hairys. Alternativley,False horse forelocks buy a hair clip from boots and chop a bit of the middle of tail and glue it to the clip. Place it under the bridle head piece. If your going in unplaited then cut the tail hair into three sections but youll need to razor them do the ends look natural. You can wash the hair but make sure you put a strong elastic band at one end to keep it looking like a ponytail before you do. Of course I wouldnt really know because all of my ponies are shown in a completely natural state as required by the breed standard (erm)

Hers are 45.00 but they are good. By the time they have had your kids chuck them round the wagon etc they all look like dead rats!horse forelocks horse forelocks !
Just be aware that some societies and their judges are well aware of lsies being used - check your societies rules inside out and upside down, especially if you have a hairy of any variety
Cant you just chop off a bit of his tail?
Is it a major problem not having much of a forelock though, a bit of clever plaiting can make it look more robust or you could train the top of the mane in?
Hi, my pony managed to rub off his entire forelock almost whilst in a cross mood in his stable - not a good luck for a native
and whilst considering options must admit we gave up as he has a very fine / fluffy mane unlike his extra thick tail

Thats what i used to do, would neatly plait in and then sew it in for the show day and for natives a friend of mine used to use loads of hair pins...
