Ok, what Im getting ready to show you now is a basic French braid. Whenever theres just one or two French braids, its generally done in the in style, so thats what were going to show you right now. And when youre doing a French braid, or any type of scalp braid, when you have straighter hair that hangs like this, its a good idea to rub some gel in there. Just to give you some consistency and so it doesnt slide through your hands so much. Make sure you get underneath here because were going to be working with all of this because were going to be right on the scalp. So, this is where we need it to hold on. And just go ahead and kind of run it down. Have your wide tooth comb to comb it through. OK. Now,horse hair braids when we start, take your comb and grab the first piece, comb the rest of this down, and, just like a braid, youre going to split it into three sections. Try to get them about the same size. And, just as we did with the in-braid,horse hair braids what were going to do is were going to cross it over the middle to get it started and youll do the other side as well. And youll see the s of the braid starting to happen. Now, to add to it, you just grab a small section of hair from the side and you add these two together and youre going to cross it over this middle section. And youre going to do the exact same on the opposite side, just add a little bit of hair to your pieces and cross over the middle. And youll start to see our braid happening right there. This is how you start every type of braid. It doesnt matter what kind of design youre going for. You start out with your three pieces and then you continually add as you work down the head. Just cross over the middle and youll see that the little braided pieces are going down towards the middle, just like the hanging in-braid. So, we just grab a little section of hair and add it to that side and cross over. Whenever you have a larger braid, you have a little bit more free range in how much hair you add at a time. So, its OK to grab a big chunk and just wrap it right on over that middle piece.,.
